Daiichi Fly hooks behoren tot de beste haken van de wereld, wist je bijvoorbeeld dat Daiichi haken:

Daiichi Heavy Wide-Gape Scud Hook / serie: 1120 / bronze
This heavy wire version of style 1130 was introduced in 1999 as a response to feedback received from flyfishers who need tougher hooks for heavy powerful fish, like steelhead, and those who want heavier wire to aid the sinking speed of their subsurface flies.

Daiichi Heavy Wide-Gape Hook / serie: 1150 / bronze
This hook design is similar to hooks used in England and Europe as bait hooks for carp. In fly-fishing, it works great for nymphs, larvae, scuds, shrimp, or bead-head flies. The heavier than standard wire is preferred by some to give flies more weight and more strength.

Daiichi Standard Wet Fly Hook / serie: 1550 / bronze
This is the traditional "wet fly" hook. These hooks feature a more gradual curve of the wire in the transition from the straight shank to the bottom of the bend. This shape is associated with an early English hook-maker named Sproat and today is still referred to as a sproat bend. Dedicated fly tiers consider this as the proper bend to give wet flies their aesthetic beauty.

Daiichi Larva Hook / serie: 1870 / bronze
Dr. Gary Borger conceptualized and helped us create the design for this hook. It is an improved version of the swimming nymph hook (1770) and it features 2X-heavy wire. The gentle york bend facilitates the use of beads for bead head nymphs. The design of this hook is truly unique because the eye of the hook is lower than the spear and point of the hook. As a fly rides upright in the water. This allows for a better jigging action as the fly is retrieved with short, jerking motions. Larger sizes give life like appearances to leeches, crayfish, and stonefly nymphs.

Daiichi Multi-Use Curved Hook / serie: 1270 / bronze
The york bend was developed by Daiichi to simulate a more natural looking curved hook. Many tiers feel that these curved hooks impart amore life like natural appearance in the flies they create. Daiichi Bead-Head Nymph Hook / serie: 1260 / bronze
The 1260 hook was designed in 1995 by the Orvis Company and Angler Sport Group as a hook to use specifically with metal beads to make "bead head" nymphs. The shape of the bend and standard wire facilitates the use of beads with a smaller center hole. The curved shank gives flies a more aesthetically pleasing and natural look. They're also great for hoppers and terrestrials.

Daiichi 4X-Long Streamer Hook / serie: 2220 / bronze
4X-long hooks are great for minnow imitations. The shank of the hook is the right length to create properly proportioned fish profiles. Some fishers complain that hook shanks longer than 4X allow the fish to use leverage on the shank to "throw" the hook simply by biting down on the shank near the eye of the hook.

Aberdeen style hooks are considered "general purpose" and are used for various types of fishing. These hooks are popular as snelled hooks for live bait, used in lures and streamers or for fly tying. Daiichi Wide-Gape "Stinger Hook" / serie: 2720 / bronze
This unique hook was designed by a bass fisherman who wanted a better hook to use on his poppers. The wide-gape bend is very effective at holding bass once they are hooked because the spear of the hook angles back towards the eye of the hook. This bend shape allows the popper or fly manufacturer to attach a small loop of stiff nylon monofilament at he bottom of the bend and just behind the eye to form and effective weed guard. This is the hook of choice for bass and panfish poppers and deerhair bass flies.

Daiichi Straight-Eye Salmon Hook / serie: 2141 / black
This heavy wire salmon hook was designed for catching steelhead and salmon. (Dyckers is using the hook also for carp) The heavy wire gives extra weight to get the fly down to proper fishing depth and for great holding power. The limerick bend is the traditional bend of choice for salmon fishers around the globe, because hooked fish generally do not escape. The gape of this hook is wider than normal for extra bite.

Daiichi Double Salmon Hook / serie: 7131 / black
Two hooks in one lure is an old trick to successfully catch more fish! This double hook is produced from one piece of wire doubled back in the shank of the hook where it is brazed together. The wire diameter and shape of this hook connotes a "low water" style of salmon hook. This is a traditional hook for salmon, though some salmon fisheries now restrict the use of double hooks. As a fishing tool, double hooks have twice the weight of a similar sized single hook and the two hooks bends at 90 degrees from each other are said to be effective "keels" for some flies, keeping them upright.

This modern bait hook was developed as a cross between a wide-gape hook and a circle hook having elements of each in its design. Daiichi Stainless Salt Water Hook / serie: 2546 / stainless steel
Daiichi does not chemically sharpen these hooks because the process does not work favorably with this alloy. These hooks have ground needlepoints. They will not rust in salt or brackish waters. Perfect for bonefish, tarpon, etc.
